Coosa Water Authority is a government entity classified as a municipality and governed by a board of Directors. There are board meetings on the second Thursday night of each month at the office at 6:30 pm. There is also an annual meeting the second Saturday in March to update the Coosa Water community, date and time posted in advance.
At the present time, the water system has over 155 miles of operational waterline. There are 4 storage tanks which have a 420,000 gallon capacity. There are 5 wells drawing groundwater from unconfined crystalline rock aquifers with the pumping capacity of 630,00 gallons per day. The Authority provides water for 1,725 meters for commercial and residential use. Water samples are sent to the EPD lab each month.
Payments can be made at the office, 4707 Blue Ridge Hwy., drop box in the door for after hour convenience, anytime or at United Community Bank, all branches in Blairsville, and South State Bank before the due date.
CWA now offers a waterline and leak protection programs through Servline. The leak protection is $3. per month for up to $2,500 one time every 12 months. Line protection is $4.40 per month for up to $10,000 repair cost from meter to foundation NO DEDUCTIBLE, NO ANNUAL LIMIT.
